Samsung mobile phones are currently one of the most popular mobile phone manufacturers in the world. The mobile phone side of the company is Samsung Telecommunications and there are a number of other parts to the Samsung group.
The company started the mobile side of the business in 1983 and released it’s first car phone in 1986 and it’s first mobile phone the SH-100 in 1988. The initial phones were not greatly successful. In 1993 the company developed a much improved model which proved popular in the home Market of Korea. It was not until 1996 when Samsung mobiles became available in other countries;Samsung did a deal with an American Network to supply phones. In Europe the company was competing against the likes of Nokia,Ericsson and Motorola. Aiming for a quality phone but simple design it produced the SGH-600 in 1998. Since then Samsung has brought out many phones and has increased in market share.
Samsung has a number of popular phones on the market and a selection of smartphones including Samsung Galaxy S II which uses the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. Other popular current models include:Samsung Genio II,Samsung Tocco Icon,Samsung Galaxy Fit,Samsung Galaxy Mini,Samsung Galaxy Ace,Samsung Nexus S scLCD,Samsung Wave II,Samsung Galaxy Pro. Samsung also manufacturer an number of slide phones which they are well known for and Qwerty phones.
